A couple of years ago I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, and I discovered something truly amazing.

You see, the food was great, but for some reason every time I ate at camp I was left really poorly with sickness and diarrhea- which isn’t great at the best of times, let alone when you are camping in a 2 man tent with your 66 year old Dad, in freezing conditions, and hiking up to 10 hours a day at a high altitude!

I was afraid that if I ate less then I would have less energy, and not make it to the top.

Fortunately, I had prepared ahead with all my ‘energy tools’ that I had learned from being in my business and needing to manage my energy as a sensitive type or Earth angel.

What was so amazing was that within a few hours of stopping the food that was making me sick and switching to my secret super foods I was bouncing up that mountain!

I believe whatever summit you are striving towards in life- whether its to make your first million, change the World through philanthropy, find more balance and peace in your daily routine or all of the above then these supportive secrets can help!

These tools and tips can help support you if you are sensitive, travel a lot, or need to be on your ‘A’ Game for an event or meeting!

Rhodiola- This is my flying secret- it is a literal miracle worker- it completely stops you getting tired and stressed! I just take it on the flight and for a day or two after landing. Usually I buy a tincture and add it to water but you can take a pill as well- whatever you prefer. I once forgot it and felt dizzy and weird-but when I remember I don’t even notice and can roll right into whatever I am doing, whether working with clients, trekking to jungles or attending a swanky do! ;)

Maca- Essential if you are at a high altitude or having hormonal challenges, it supports your adrenals and makes you more energised. I don’t go crazy on this and eat it daily like some folks- but I had a liquid form of it on Kili and it was awesome- even my Dad was a fan and he is a super sceptic of all this ‘woo woo nonsense’- In fact he said without it on summit night he would not have made it ;) Thanks Maca! I like it in hot chocolate with raw cacao and almond milk mmmmm- yum.

Protein bars – If you’re anything like me your blood sugar can drop super fast- keep some healthy protein bars for emergencies! I like these organic ones- you can get them at wholefoods by the box- or online if you are UK based.

Almonds- Just the most amazing snack foods- have some on you at all times! Alkalising, healthy, packed with nutrients and easy to get most places. Almonds are lifesavers!

Coconut water- I always try and grab a fresh coconut or some bottled coconut water when I land anywhere- it totally helps to replenish lost fluids and is more hydrating than water. It has electrolytes in so its uber beneficial- Again I don’t really know the science- just that it works!

Flower Essences- I always have rescue remedy with me, I usually take some on flights as security and all that stresses me out and I have been known to be the one running for the gate- yes even at 7 months pregnant… And my other must have flower essence for flights is YARROW- it helps with all the electro-magnetism apparently


Essential Oils – My friend Christina Morassi turned me onto these when I had my son, and they have been awesome. there is one called peace and calming which kids love- and I like Valor for when I am speaking on stages and have some nerves.

The Number 1 lesson I learnt From Climbing Kili Which Can Help You Live Your Dreams.

The people that successfully made it to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro and carried on through the 15 hour night hike, with lows of -12 degrees and severe altitude sickness, even the risk of serious injury were not necessarily those who were the fittest. Nor were they those who had the best kit, or had taken special drugs to help them acclimatise.

In fact the people who made it had just one thing in common:

Total determination.

The people that made it are those that had shut the ‘back door’. They had decided, 100%. They had committed to getting the top with no excuses and no wiggling out of it – no matter how tempting it was to turn back or stop.

There were several times as I climbed step by weary step in the darkness, that I contemplated turning around.

We had been hiking and camping for 6 days straight, walking up to 10 hours a day in all weather conditions. I had been sick with a tummy bug so had been getting by with very little food, and my energy was low. There were several points when I could have turned around and gone back down, especially as people around me were doing just that.

My mind was telling me all these stories that justified my turning around. However, stubborn as I am, I just kept slowly trudging forward, baby step by baby step even when it was hard. I had joked that the only way I was coming down was on a stretcher, that might sound extreme but I was going to give my all to complete my promise to raise funds for the African children’s charity Msizi Africa, and I kept remembering that this was only temporary pain and discomfort, whereas some people cope everyday with illnesses and hardships that I could not even imagine.

There was a moment at around 6am, we had been walking 7 hours and I had been battling with my resistance. The moment the sun broke through the clouds I knew it was going to be okay and that I was going to make it- even though I was 3 hours from the summit.

Walking through the night without much oxygen I had to breathe very deeply and slowly and I had a new understanding of the saying “the darkest hour is just before the dawn.” The sun breaking on the horizon really did lift everyone’s spirits when we needed it the most.

I find that on the path to your dreams if you can just keep going when you want to stop and everything looks hopeless you will have your big breakthrough.

Summitting mount Kili was the hardest mental and physical challenge I have undertaken so far, and many people did not make it to the top. Even the Doctor in our group collapsed from exhaustion and many of us were sick from the altitude at 5,895metres. But I know that it’s made me a stronger and more grateful person, and then its an experience I will never forget.

One last thing- I shared the trip with my father as a present for his retirement. He is 66 years old and spent his life as an army officer. He said it was the biggest challenge of his life and he hardest thing he’d ever done too, so I am so pleased we did this together and have it to remember for the rest of our lives.

It was a journey of a lifetime and during it the Warrior Goddess became even more potent and instructive, I felt strongly guided to go ahead with the USA retreat coming up in November and the Glastonbury retreat also coming up. Here’s a quick exercise you can do to help you
ground your energy, set your boundaries and
create space.
Your energy belongs to you. As you stand,
the area above and around you as far as your
hands reach out to either side with your arms
outstretched is YOUR energy real estate.
So here is a simple, elemental energy exercise
to help you ground and clear your personalspace.
I share this with my clients and I’ve found that
despite its simplicity – this exercise is really
powerful and transformative.
You can do this exercise right now as it only takes
a few minutes and you’ll feel more centred, clear and
balanced. You will might feel a sense of empowerment and grounding.
Stand with your feet planted on the ground and follow these steps…
Imagine that you are standing on a clock face and infront of
you is 12 o’clock. Inhale deeply and hold your hands up
to your chest with your palms facing outwards.
Now exhale as if consciously pushing energy that is not
your own away from you and imagine your own energy
filling up the space- Like a displacement going on.
Repeat this exercise as you pivot round in a circle for
1 o’clock, 2 o’clock etc until you come back to 12.
I do this with my eyes shut. Sometimes I find that it’s
harder at certain numbers- my hand can seem to
encounter more pressure- and I expect this is part of
my field I am clearing out. Do this once a
day and observe how you feel- you may feel
a sense of amazing heat and a movement of energy.
TIPS for effective Energy field cleansing and grounding
- Set your intention. Keep your awareness on releasing
and re-claiming your own personal space
- Become aware of the wonderful feeling of being centred
and in the sun of your own being. To feel complete and
held in your energy field.
- Breathe deeply and consciously, using your outward breath
as you push out to remove unwanted enerhies from your field
- Congratulate yourself for accepting your love and
empowering your self
- Enjoy the feeling of creating your boundaries and creating space
for yourself.
- Love and nourish your energy and yourself and radiate that love!

Are You an Earth Angel?

I read an article the other day online that felt like I was ‘meant’ to read it.

If you are reading this one I am guessing you are ‘meant to’ also as it relates to being here but being a certain kind of person- An Earth Angel.

Being an Earth angel doesn’t automatically mean your whole life is heavenly and that you never make mistakes.

In fact, you may find that you have never really felt like you fitted in, you may have an uncontrollable sugar addiction and weight problems, or you might have struggled with other addictions too (drink, drugs, meds, sex, drama). You may be someone who loves other people and animals and nature so much, and yet often feels strangely disjointed and isolated. Perhaps you have emotions and feelings that run very deep and you often feel misunderstood except by your animals, spirit guides and maybe one or two close friends or writers you haven’t even met!

If you are an earth angel you came to Earth with a purpose and you may have been feeling that strongly since you were very young, as you mature you find ways to help people and want to make a difference through service.

Advice for Earth Angels:

- Cleanse your chakras- As a sensitive and aware being of light, incarnated here to help people as best you can it is wise to take excellent care of your energy and bring into your field the thoughts, people, foods and stimulus that are loving, nourishing and are high-vibration. If you practice cleansing your chakras every day it will help you to stay centered, vibrant and prevent you ‘taking on’ other people’s problems/emotions/fears.

- Ask For Help – All too often an earth Angel gets so busy in helping others that they forget they are also worthy of love, care and assistance. Next time you begin to feel overwhelmed, or find yourself out of balance ask for divine assistance, or speak up and make requests from those around you- You may be pleasantly surprised how willing people are to serve you for a change! Be sure to allow yourself to receive, as giving and receiving create a wonderful flow of abundance and go hand in hand.

- Grounding- It’s important to be here now. You might prefer the higher vibrations of other planes and levels of reality; however, whilst you are here it’s good to adjust to life in the 3rd dimension. Take time every morning to plant your feet ion the Earth, walk barefoot on the grass or do a visualization bringing your energy ‘down to Earth.’ Most Angels struggle with this one, but remember for you to be all you can be in the lifetime you really have to ‘get with the program’ of this planet and ground yourself into this physical reality so that you are able to function. Use your breath and some positive affirmations and do what needs to be done to make your stay here comfortable and life-affirming!

- Diet and Exercise – Without some care to your health and especially your vibration you will struggle. Take your intuition shopping and to every restaurant so you chose healthful, high vibration foods that serve and nourish you. If you do end up at a meal where you can tell the vibration is slightly ‘off’ (say you are staying with friends and you know the ingredients are not organic and they were cooked with resentment or anger rather than love) you can raise the vibration of your food yourself by blessing it. Bless your food, your body and your planet and the abundance it brings you as often as possible! When it comes to exercise moving in nature connects you to your spirit so take time to play, explore, swim in the lakes and ocean, walk up mountains or through forests. Move, dance, sing, run, skip just feel free and engage your body- your physical form is a great gift so look after it and it will look after you too!

- Connect with your guides- As a light being you need the comfort, reassurance, guidance and love that your spirit guides, higher self and soul family want to share with you. If you spend some time connecting with your guides, you’ll discover the sun of your own soul, be able to bathe in that and become much clearer about your purpose. Be careful not to put too much pressure on yourself, you don’t have to single-handedly save the World, and although you may indeed have an important purpose whilst you are here, its ok to have fun and take yourself lightly so be sure to enjoy and appreciate the journey. ;)

Emails, big ideas, cell phones, food cravings…It’s amazing how many different distractions are vying for our attention each day.

As someone always looking to do better and make more of a difference in the World I have had the blessing lately of becoming so much clearer, more structured and feeling totally dedicated to my Highest Calling.

I know without a shadow of a doubt that I am on my true path- and it feels like a relief! The other day I was in the USA admiring a little humming bird getting busy with his life purpose…He was darting around, so focussed, devoted to his mission of pollenating tons of flowers that day.

I got to thinking about this little guy. It amused me that he was so productive and that he would chase of the bees that were trying to get in his way. He had a ‘don’t mess’ attitude, as if to say ‘get busy or get out of my way’.

What I found so thrilling was that thinking about it further I realised that this little guy was so determined because so much depended on him doing his job well- without him the gardens would be a less colourful beautiful place and his flowers would go untended! I’d like to offer that each and every one of us has a purpose as vital to the ‘flowering’ of our chosen garden as the humming bird. Our garden is where we choose to put our attention, our true expression and creation. Now, what is so interesting about this analogy is the energy with which that guy gets to work. He is unstoppable! Not long ago I can remember flitting back and forward, feeling a sense around what I am about, but not being quite sure. I felt confused and uncertain about whether what I had to offer was really valuable. I also struggled a lot with my self-expression- I found it very tough to express myself in the World and define my ideas. This was new to me, as I had always had the ‘gift of the gab’ and as an English Graduate it’s not like I had a problem with words in general! I was clear about one thing, that the World was going through massive transformation and awakening to a brand new way of living that is consciously aware. Of that I was certain.

Nevertheless, I was still scattered and unfocussed about the rest. Fortunately, a couple of months ago through a series of miraculous events, I have completely taken a U-turn with that. Observing the humming bird so ‘on purpose’ consolidated to me this idea of ‘going for it’ as though life depended on it! Maybe it does.

The World is a less colourful, less beautiful place without your unique expression in it! Own your power, your purpose and your devotion to a higher meaning today and don’t delay in putting your expression out there with confidence, joy and authenticity!
